✅ About MOPOWER Solar & Construction Co., Ltd.

Founded in August 2008 by CEO Chi Bong-Chae, MOPOWER Solar & Construction Co., Ltd. is a Korea-based company operating primarily in Southern Africa.

With a solid track record in thermal power plant construction, gas pipeline installation, civil engineering, and building infrastructure, MOPOWER has now entered the renewable energy sector as a fully integrated IPP developer.

✅ Current Development:

Our first  IPP project is a 50MW solar power plant located in Gweru, Zimbabwe, for which project financing (PF) and all major development milestones have been successfully completed as of July 2025.

Construction is scheduled to commence before the end of 2025, with an estimated construction period of 12 months.

✅ What’s Next:

Our second 50MW solar project—of identical capacity and scope—is already under preparation and will be officially announced soon.

 IPPs line up power projects

Mopower Solar Limited is proposing to invest in a 100MW solar plant at Orient Farm in Somabula near Gweru in the Midlands Province, as well as the construction of 3km of a 132kV transmission line to connect the proposed solar plant to the existing Chertsey Gweru 132kV substation..
